Wow I have a cough. I am all The Penguin and no Batgirl this week.
And, with the Swine Flu fears deep and rich in our busy busy city everyone stares, my co-workers are annoyed. At the risk of sounding trite I will say I have a whole new appreciation for gay men and people of colour. Can't remember the last time I had such power to make people uncomfortable simply by being; maybe never.

Just reassure your coworkers that it's not swine flu; just a touch of tuberculosis.

You should try announcing that you homeschool -- it's good for a lot of dirty looks and/or people pretending you are invisible. Being identified as a carrier of pestilience would be a breeze.

BTW, in an effort to cheer you up, I'll tell you this. MadDad led circle time at day care today. He was teaching 4-yr-olds how to act. Ha!
Have you tried mentioning that you are an Atheist? That makes people very uncomfortable.
My dear SA went to our doc for a note to miss work due to flu...she sent him for a swabbing and included a mask which he wore around town. He did not flinch. What a guy.
We have not heard back or heard his name read out on the CBC so we suspect it is not The Bad Flu. Just A Bad Flu. Your cough sounds like my baby's, he who has never smoked a day in his life. And so I suspect in a few days I will sound like you.
